Last weekend I was invited along with Laureen to stay and experience the unique hotel, GLOW Penang. Every now and then I do drive past the hotel and it really is intriguing from its outlook. When I first entered the hotel, I was amazed at how impressive it was. The interior was one of a kind with its beautiful murals that were mostly painted by local artists and the whole set up of the hotel was stunning. Its located along Macalister Road where there are a lot of hawker food for those who prefer to have local food. The hotel is also a short driving distance away from the major shopping malls and also the heritage site, which is really convenient for tourists.
There is not one corner of the of the hotel that does not have a pop of colour which is one of the things I love about GLOW Penang. It's striking colour palette and well-painted murals are what makes this hotel so unique and such an eye pleasing view. The pool was simple and great for those who would like to have fun and just dip in the water instead of those who want to swim laps. There is a bar by the pool so you can easily enjoy drinks and snacks in between dips.
We had lunch at the Zest Bar Cafe before heading to our rooms. The Zest Bar Cafe serves Thai fusion dishes along with some Western dishes. Its a very nice setting with floor to ceiling windows on one side, brightening up the space with natural light. Now I may not be a food critic but I definitely am a food lover. I enjoy food and I can definitely take in a lot more than I can chew when it comes to good food. We ordered the spaghetti aglio olio, Caesar salad and gaeng massaman which is a peanut based curry sauce. The food, especialy the spaghetti, was so delicious. Not only did the dishes looked appetising, it tasted as good as it looks. I enjoyed every bite I took for each dish.
I had the breakfast buffet the next morning and was again pleased by the delicious food served. The buffet has a smaller selection but served tasty food. I must say if you ever do try out the buffet, eat the bread. Overall the Zest Bar Cafe served a vartiety of delectable dishes that would satisfy your taste buds.

The room we stayed in was the Superior Double Room (if I'm not mistaken) which is best for those travelling in pairs. It was very cosy, clean and well maintained. There are also single rooms available for those who are on a business trip and family rooms as well. There is a small window that allows ample light to shine through. Basically, its just a simple and comfortable room to return to after a long day sightseeing or shopping or even just to lounge in and relax.
Even though parking might be a tad bit of a problem, if you're travelling by air there really isn't any problem at all. I believe GLOW Penang is a really convenient for tourists who wouldn't spend too much on accommodation but still able to have a pleasant stay. So if you're planning to visit Penang, make sure to check out GLOW Penang if you want a good hotel stay at for a reasonable price.
If you need more information about the hotel or wish to book a room, head over to their official website GLOW Penang or head over to their Facebook page to check out their deals and updates. Well if any of you book a room or just have a meal at GLOW Penang, I hope you have a pleasant experience like I did with the good service, good food and good accommodation. Big thanks to Dexter from GLOW Penang for having me and Laureen. Till here, I hope you're all well! Nx
